Sundance Film Festival announced that Safety Not Guaranteed will be one of the 16 films in its US Dramatic Competition.

Filmed in Washington State this spring, the story follows a trio of magazine employees who investigate a classified ad seeking a partner for time travel. Director Colin Trevorrow and producer Stephanie Langhoff worked with local producer Lacey Leavitt (The Off Hours, Blood On The Tracks) to assemble an all-local production team for the five-week filming schedule.

Safety Not Guaranteed, starring Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza and Humpday’s Mark Duplass (pictured), was incentivized by the Washington State Film Competitiveness Program.
